Violette Dorange’s J3 small headsail, detatched itself, and went in the water. The J 3, is the sail that is used in heavy weather, and the system that holds it broke. So Violette had to climb the mast of her Imoca to fix the halward fittings.

Jeremie Beyou in CHARAL is now in fourth place since Sam Goodchild blew out his mainsail and had to slow down to repair it.
Jeremie is now expected to finish between 1 and 3 am on 24th January French time.
He will lead a surge of exhausted but relieved and grateful skippers through the finish line. The skipper of CHARAL is well set for fourth place.

The comaraderdie between the sailors in the Vendee Globe is touching. Still to finish, Boris Herrmann, Malazia Seaexplorer, who is scheduled to finish on 27th January 2025 congratulates the winner Charlie Dalin, Macif, whilst lamenting his position. It is good to see the skippers appreciate their oppositions great performances.

The BPI Busuanga Cup 2025 showcased not just skill but the power of strategy and preparation. With shifting winds demanding precise maneuvers and calculated decisions, the competition proved what it takes to race at the highest level. Across both offshore and inshore races, it was a true test of planning, execution, and adaptability on the water.
