Saint Oliver Plunkett (1625–1681) was born in Loughcrew, Ireland, and became the Archbishop of Armagh during a time of intense religious persecution. Falsely accused during the Popish Plot, he was arrested, tried, and brutally executed by being hanged, drawn, and quartered in London. His courage and faith made him a martyr, and today, some of his remains are venerated in St. Peter’s Church, Drogheda.
