Messiah's Praiseworthy Women E11 Preparing to Endure

Endurance through suffering is a vital part of walking in faith. Sticking with YHWH and seeking His plan through the joyous times and the hard times testifies to the truth of the Good News more than anything else. Revelation prophesies a time of great tribulation not only during "The Tribulation" but like birth pangs intensifying throughout our generation. For the Remnant of Israel, the time of Jacob's trouble as Gog of Magog approaches will be a defining test of our commitment to the Covenant. So how can we prepare ourselves for the times ahead?

We could try and come up with a plan of our own, build bunkers, save up clean water and food, along with other supplies, and hope none of it gets confiscated, stolen, or destroyed when the trouble strikes. But that may not work out. Especially since before unforeseen circumstances befall us, most people like to talk about their projects. The people they talk to are bound to remember little things like "I'm building a food store just in case" when they're hungry. Even if in the past you've been friends, who's to say how your friendship will be valued compared to their own survival? So then what if you keep your mouth shut and prepare quietly? Well, if all your neighbors are starving and you're healthy, they're going to know you have a stockpile. What happens when the rumor gets out and your entire neighborhood shows up to get whatever they can? Can you save up enough ammo and weapons to ward off the entire local populous indefinitely should they get the idea you have the supplies they don't? What happens if word spreads to your whole state or the country? You could end up worse off than the average person. Constantly fending off attackers looking for supplies, water and food that's already been taken.

That's assuming the government doesn't come along and take your stockpile as soon as the trouble starts. After all, they have digital access to all your receipts and tons of similar data. Even if you live in an extremely rural area, you've got to purchase some of your supplies, and your purchases are bound to give some indication of what you have saved up. What you don't buy will also speak volumes. If the elites and powers that be are looking to use catastrophic events to force people into accepting a global (eventually anti-messiah led) government, they're sure to be on the lookout to eliminate all possible loopholes. Their plans for this, and the degree to which they're already prepared is pretty impossible to ascertain ahead of time, making an adequate defense unlikely. Clearly, there's no such thing as a "foolproof" plan for surviving the apocalypse. We're going to have to prepare ourselves to endure through the great unknown.

If we can't truly prepare a plan, what kind of preparation is left? We have to prepare our hearts. Only the all knowing God can overcome the great unknown. Our hearts and minds must be turned to Him already. In this way He can strengthen our faith and obedience to Him before the trouble comes. Like He fed Elijah, or the children of Israel Mana in the wilderness, He can meet our needs. In tonight's meeting our panel discusses the theme of Preparing to Endure.
