ke Patriotism EXPOSED: Pickering Council's Virtue Signaling Over the National Anthem! Thanks USA

For six months, Mayor Kevin Ashe and council refused to support my motion to play the national anthem before meetings — not because they disagreed, but because I suggested it. Now, suddenly, the Mayor wants to make it part of a procedural bylaw — why? Because now he can take the credit and suddenly it's time to be part of "Team Canada" This isn’t about patriotism — it’s about ego and political games. And as I am writing this I just received an email that now the Region of Durham is going to start playing the anthem before meetings too. Funny how it’s only a good idea when it’s politically convenient. Watch the full video to see the hypocrisy in action!

Email below - from Durham Region: March 21, 2025 9:42am

At the request of Chair Henry, we will begin next week’s Regional Council meeting with the playing of O Canada. A minor amendment to the Procedure By-law is included on next week’s agenda to standardize the practice for all future meetings of Regional Council (see Communication Item #7.1).
