He Choked His Dad, Then Head-butted a Cop

An off-duty officer heard loud screams from a nearby apartment and called for backup to investigate. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a man assaulting his father. The police separated the two and began investigating the incident. The father explained to the officers that his son had been fine a few moments earlier but had suddenly started having anger episodes and began acting aggressively. The officers were soon going to witness this behaviour firsthand. Even though the son had tried to choke his father, the elderly man was unwilling to get him into trouble. However, the police had a different perspective. To verify the sequence of events, the officers decided to speak with the father to get a detailed account. The officers were completely unprepared for what the man was about to do. In a fit of rage, the man was about to harm a nearby officer, risking yet another felony charge. He regretted his actions, but alas, it was too late. The officer tried to comfort him, but the man seemed to be battling his own mind too intensely. He was charged with resisting arrest and battery upon a peace officer.
