Eating Blood

Are Christians instructed not to eat blood? Most Christians think they can eat anything. But this was part of the first theological question the Christian church needed to settle. The decision was that they should not do so, and neither should they eat food sacrificed to other gods. It seems strange that we should follow these two laws but not the other laws in the Old Covenant. But it does make sense when you understand the background.
