Episode 5 of Team Profiles: Set G will be about Dragapult Breloom.

Dragapult is a psuedolegendary Dragon/Ghost Pokemon introduced in Generation 8. Its design is to be a Pokemon that can hit you no matter what. This is a dead giveaway in that it's main attacking Ghost move is Phantom Force and they didn't give it Shadow Claw. They wanted Dragapult's attacks to sting no matter if you brought in Intimidate or wanted to set up Relfect and Light Screen, so they gave it Clear Body and Infiltrator. Dragapult has a blisteringly high Speed and blisteringly powerful Attack, and combined with a great typing, can become the carry nobody wanted but everybody needed.

This Dragapult team is paired with Breloom, a Grass/Fighting Pokemon introduced in Generation 3. Breloom is one of the only other Pokemon in this format with an effective means to putting Pokemon to sleep with the move Spore. Compared, though, to the other Pokemon that gain Spore, Breloom has a hard time setting it up. This is where Dragapult comes in. With the attack Pounce, Dragapult can lower the speed of an opposing Pokemon that may outspeed and threaten Breloom, giving Breloom the window to put it to sleep. Like I talk about in the video, this allows Breloom to counter threats with 120 or lower base speed and max speed investments by putting them to sleep.

Don't take this as the be all and end all of Dragapult for Set G. Dragapult is a very versatile Pokemon and can be configured it a plethora of ways to counter what's hot. That's how it's designed, after all!

Thank you for listening and I hope you continue to support my work.
