A cunning fox befriended a stork and invited him to a feast. The stork accepted, but the fox offered only soup, which was in a shallow bowl. The stork, upset, refused to eat the soup, stating that he had a health problem. The stork left, inviting the fox to dinner. The fox returned, serving the soup in a narrow jar with a long neck. The stork, feeling ashamed, asked if the fox was enjoying the soup. The fox left, feeling humiliated and ashamed. This story reminds us of the royal law of loving one's neighbor as oneself, which encourages us to do the same for our neighbors.
