Colorado Refuses To Help Search For Escaped Illegal Migrant Criminals

Two illegal migrant criminals are on the loose after escaping from a Colorado detention facility – and according to ICE Denver – local authorities in the Sanctuary city are refusing to help find them.
32-year-old Joel Jose Gonzalez-Gonzalez, and 24-year old Geilond Vido-Romero, busted out of the Denver contracted Detention Facility in Aurora, during a sudden power outage.
After a facility wide count, authorities noticed the pair was missing
ICE says that when they reached out to Aurora PD for immediate help with the search – the police refused to help saying,

“Local authorities were notified immediately and declined to assist with the search,” an ICE spokesperson said in a statement. “ICE also notified additional state and federal law enforcement partners. The aliens are still at large and the search is ongoing.”

Aurora PD responded, saying in part,

“As a municipal law enforcement agency, we do not enforce federal immigration law and cannot participate in large-scale searches or follow-ups.”
