Bike ride, fast to and from trail in the woods

Wednesday morning greets me with bright sunshine, but the air stays cold enough to keep a shawl over my face. The clear sky makes the ride feel crisp and fresh as I push along the streets, sidewalks, and wooded trails.

The wind still bites, but the warmth from the sun takes the edge off. My bike’s fenders handle the damp spots, keeping things clean except for a bit of mud on the bottoms of my shoes. The steady effort keeps me warm beneath the chill, the shawl shielding my face from the sharp air.

My GoPro records the ride—about an hour of clear skies, brisk wind, and smooth trails. Each pedal stroke feels easier under the bright morning sun, making the cold more manageable.

By the time I finish, the sun is climbing higher, and the chill lingers, but the ride leaves me feeling energized—a bright, brisk start to the day.
