In today’s book review we take a look at A Guide to the Good Life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy by William Irvine. One of the best books about stoicism and my favorite books of all time. In this video I summarize some key concepts from A Guide to the Good Life (Voluntary Discomfort and Negative Visualization) that can help us build resilience and fight hedonic adaptation.

William B. Irvines book is probably the best book to start with if you want to learn about stoicism and it’s extremely practical.
