He is the Messenger of Allah (saw) the worshipper, the humble, the abstainer, the submitting to Allah (swt).

Jibraeel (as) said to him, “Should I make you a ruling prophet, or a worshipping (aabid) messenger?” He said, “Rather, a worshipping messenger.” His Lord (swt) praises him (saw) in His (swt) Noble Quran for his worshipping servitude in the most honorable of statuses, saying about him (saw), “Glory be to Him who took His worshipping servant (abd) by part of the night from the Al-Masjid Al-Haraam to Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa.”

Sorrow, worry, and grief come to him, but he says, “I rest by it, O Bilal.” He fasts, and continues day and night. His Lord says to him, “Get up for Tahajjud,” so he stands in Tahajjud for twenty-three years. He stands at night until his feet swell. Bilal enters upon him while he is crying, and he says, “O Messenger of Allah, why are you crying, when He has forgiven you your past and future sins?” He says, “Our example is that of the worshipper. Should I not be a grateful worshipping servant?” This is your Messenger (saw), whose past and future sins have been forgiven. Despite this, he (saw) exerted himself in worship, in the Tahajjud, in remembrance, in the recitation of the Quran, in glorifying and declaring Allah’s Oneness. He (saw) is your example and your leader to Paradise, and your salvation is dependent on following him (saw). If your conduct is not according to his Sunnah, then it will be destruction, ruin, and loss. Yes. Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (swt) you have an excellent example. Thank you for watching.
