SUZ ROBINSON on Oakland Crime: "Public Safety has collapsed our city"

today the tragic news in Oakland is a 15-year-old boy was murdered over a backpack on the streets of East Oakland. per the SF CRON -

"Four teenage boys were on their regular walk to soccer practice Monday after school in East Oakland when a man with a gun came up behind them and demanded the backpack belonging to 15-year-old Derbing Jose Alvarado Gonzalez. Derbing tried to negotiate with the armed robber — but there was a struggle. It ended with four loud blasts and the assailant running off without the backpack."

Does Oakland want a mayor That's just gonna put out statements after a child is murdered in the streets over a backpack - when it's too late? or just stay silent? or does Oakland want a mayor that's gonna actually do something ahead of time and actually work on public safety as a mission?
