Welcome to my Wailing Caverns (WC) walkthrough in World of Warcraft Classic—a level 17-24 dungeon tucked away in the Barrens’ southwest oasis. I’m diving into the quest "Leaders of the Fang," covering all five WC quests, and even touching on the Verdant Bloom event from Season of Discovery’s March 2025 update (extra nature loot, yay!). I’m a total noob, so expect some detailed steps—plus a few hilarious fails, like me sneezing my way through the dungeon and sinking in bear form. Let’s get started, and maybe you’ll learn what not to do from my chaos!
Step 1: Quest Pickup - Don’t Get Lost Like I Did!
Preparation: You’ll need a group—1 tank, 1 healer, 3 DPS. I’m a level 20 druid, but you can start at level 17. Wailing Caverns is a maze, so stick together or you’ll be wandering for hours (I speak from experience!).

Thunder Bluff (Elder Rise): Head to the southeast mesa in Thunder Bluff. Find Nara Wildmane—she’s a tauren shaman with antlers, standing near a totem. She gives "Serpentbloom": collect 10 Serpentbloom flowers inside WC. Easy, right? Unless you’re allergic like me—achoo!

Crossroads (Barrens): In the central Barrens, visit the Crossroads outpost. Look for Hamuul Runetotem, a tauren elder with big antlers, near the inn. He hands out "The Essence of Aku’Mai": you’ll need to loot an essence from the final boss, Lord Serpentis. I thought there was a quest in Camp Taurajo too, but nope—just some quillboars giving me the stink eye!

Wailing Caverns Entrance: The dungeon’s in the southwest Barrens, near Crossroads—look for a green oasis with a cave. Inside, you’ll find three tauren NPCs near the portal: Ebru and Nalpak (standing together) give "Leaders of the Fang" (kill 4 Fanglords: Lady Anacondra, Lord Cobrahn, Kresh, and Lord Pythas) and "Deviate Eradication" (kill 7 Deviate Raptors and 7 Crocolisks). Muyoh, nearby, offers "Trouble at the Docks" (kill 6 Deviate mobs—Raptors, Crocolisks, or snakes). That’s five quests total—my brain hurts already!

Step 2: Entering Wailing Caverns - Why’s It So Slimy?
Location: From Crossroads, head southwest in the Barrens until you spot a green oasis—it’s a lush contrast to the dusty savannah. The Wailing Caverns entrance is a cave mouth with vines hanging down, and a glowing green portal inside. It’s at coordinates ~45, 36 if you’re using a map addon (I got lost twice without one!).

Action: Form your group—tank, healer, three DPS—and step through the green portal. It’s slimy and smells like wet moss—I’m already regretting this! The dungeon’s a maze of tunnels, so follow your tank unless you want to end up like me, yelling, “Where’d everyone go?!”

Step 3: First Room - Raptors, Crocs, and Sneezes
Objective: Clear the entry chamber and start your quests.

Enemies: You’ll face Deviate Raptors (green, scaly dinos, 4 feet tall) and Deviate Crocolisks (big crocs, 6 feet long, snapping jaws). They patrol in packs of 2-3, so don’t pull too many at once—I learned that the hard way!

Action:
For "Deviate Eradication", kill 7 Raptors and 7 Crocolisks. Have your tank pull 2-3 at a time. Focus Raptors first—they bite for 50-70 damage and are squishier. Crocolisks hit with a tail whip that knocks you back (60-80 damage)—I got yeeted into a wall!

For "Serpentbloom", collect 10 Serpentbloom flowers—they’re small, green, and scattered on the ground. I grabbed one and sneezed so hard I aggroed another pack—turns out I’m allergic! Also, watch your step: the water pools are slippery. I slipped, splashed, and now I smell like swamp water. Don’t be me!

Verdant Bloom Event: Season of Discovery’s March 2025 update added this event—look for green sparkles on the ground. They drop extra nature-themed loot, like herbs or gear. I’m saving up for a shiny new leaf hat… if I don’t sneeze it away first!

Step 4: Lady Anacondra - First Fanglord, First Wipe?
Location: Take the northern path from the entrance (upper loop on the map). It’s a winding tunnel with vines and glowing emerald crystals—pretty, but deadly!

Objective: Kill Lady Anacondra (level 20 naga) for "Leaders of the Fang".

Enemies: Just Anacondra—no adds, but she’s tough!

Action: Tank her facing away from the group—she casts Lightning Bolt (60-80 damage, ouch!) and Healing Touch (heals herself for 200 HP). Interrupt the heal with a kick, bash, or anything—our tank got it with a shield bash, thank goodness! I’m in bear form, clawing away, but her lightning zapped me good. She drops a glowing green gem for the Verdant Bloom event—I dropped it in a puddle, dove in to grab it, and got soaked. One Fanglord down, three to go, and I’m already a mess!

Step 5: Lord Cobrahn - Why Can’t I Shift Right?
Location: Head to the eastern loop (right side of the map). It’s a narrow cave with mossy walls and glowing mushrooms, leading to a raised platform.

Objective: Kill Lord Cobrahn (level 20 druid) for "Leaders of the Fang".
