This German cake is an absolute classic. Known as "Kalter Hund" or "Kalte Schnauze" - which literally means "cold dog" or "cold snout" - can be prepared without an oven. It is particularly popular for children's birthday parties. The Italian version is called 'chocolate salami' and in the UK it goes by the name of 'hedgehog slice' or simply 'chocolate biscuit cake' and is very popular with some royals. We show you how to make this cake and where it got its strange name from.
