The Best Screening Format For Hiring Pt 3

If you missed the first two videos, go back and watch them—there’s a lot of value in them!
Now, let’s dive into Step 2: Assessing Experience & Qualifications.

At this stage, set expectations—this will be brief, just a few simple questions to confirm key requirements:
✔️ Do they meet the role’s qualifications (experience, degrees, certifications, licenses)?
✔️ Are they working on additional certifications that could add value?

Then, ask 1-2 general fit questions:

🔹 How do you feel about the salary range & benefits?
🔹 What working hours or shifts do you prefer?
🔹 If relocation or commuting is required—are they on board?

***Misalignment on these basics derails hiring later, so address them upfront!

Next, probe into their technical or clinical expertise. Ask specific, experience-based questions like:
👉 “Tell me about a challenging situation you handled with XYZ.”

This ensures they’re actually qualified before moving them forward. The last thing you want is to waste time on candidates who don’t meet the hiring manager’s needs.

Next up in Part 4—understanding a candidate’s career goals & motivations so you can truly sell the role. Stay tuned!
