This is a re-creation in the form of a Sci-Fi Channel 30 sec Promo for Farscape episode 2x22, Die Me, Dichotomy.

I decided it's time to revive these once lost promos. Each promo is re-created using shot for shot what the Sci-Fi Channel used in their promotional clips during commercial breaks.

All graphics are reconstructed (as best as possible) either from scratch or poor-hancing actual footage. Audio is directly from the pre-recorded Sci-Fi Channel promo with a bit of enhancing.

Years of sitting in a storage tote has saved my VHS as best as possible.

It's been a wild ride, I think I'm going to miss it. The final Sci-Fi Channel Promo re-creation for Farscape Season 2. It was a difficult journey full of anxiety, stress and sleepless mornings. There are a few reasons I decided to go on this adventure.

One was because there were only a few Sci-Fi Channel promotional trailers from Seasons 1 & 2 that were able to even be viewed. They were tiny 240p or even 120p versions with blotchy compression and poor audio (my own collection of those from 99-04 included). Even those I had recorded years ago that I noticed were copied a few times and placed on youtube making their quality even worse. Maybe I can use the, "OCD kicked in and made me do it!"...

Another reason for doing this was to provide new fans of Farscape the opportunity of experiencing the Sci-Fi Channel promos that we all watched back when Farscape was originally airing. It would excite us, we'd talk all week about each second of it.

Lastly, no DVD, Bluray, Digital collection has the Sci-Fi Channel promos for Seasons 1&2, or really 3 or 4, I mean the Season 3 versions on DVD, Bluray, Digital etc.. out there are frelled up with the wrong announcer and frame-rate blending issues. They originally are NTSC formatted and then incorrectly converted for PAL when placed on the DVD. I don't think legally I can even create the Season 3 promos in a clearer quality since they are on the official DVDs. Don't think that hasn't crossed my mind, I've even been experimenting with the "friday PRIME" to no success.

I think I'm going to archive these on archive.org for future fans too.

Anyway, enough rambling, on with this last Farscape promo.
This promo cut together much more smoothly than it's predecessor. Everything was straight forward, the original audio was okay, but needed that extra bump, so I vocal tracked the audio for each clip that needed it so it would sound clearer.
