A Surprise Ending to the Easter Story

The disciples, who had walked with Jesus for 3 1/2 years, were devastated as they watched Jesus' arrest, trial, and beating.

Fear gripped their hearts at the thought of it being discovered that they had close ties with them.

That they would have to face the same torture He was enduring.

Then, as they gathered around the cross that day on Golgotha's hill, despair flooded over them.

All of the hope that had built in their heart that Jesus would free them from the evil, oppressive Roman Empire faded away as Jesus drew His final breath.

Little did they know that this Easter story would have a surprise ending.
