Tesla fires: FBI says Las Vegas vehicle arson has “hallmarks” of terrorism

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after multiple Teslas were set on fire and fired at with a gun at a Tesla Collision Centre in Las Vegas, Nevada early Tuesday.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren said surveillance footage appeared to show a suspect using Molotov cocktails and firearms to damage at least five vehicles, with two of the cars fully engulfed in flames.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Spencer Evans said the Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating as well and Evans commented that the incident “certainly has some of the hallmarks (of terrorism).”

On his social media platform X, Elon Musk referred to the act as "terrorism."

Tesla vehicles have become a target in recent months with other acts of violence appearing in other U.S. states and around the world.
