If an astronaut fired a gun in space, many might assume it wouldn’t work due to the lack of oxygen, since combustion requires oxygen. However, that’s not the case. The gun would function normally because the bullet contains its own oxidizer, allowing it to ignite and fire even in the vacuum of space.

Although, there won’t be any sound in space because sound waves require a medium, such as air or water, to travel. Also, since there is not air in space, the Gun won’t cool down on its own.
