How diaphragm movement changes fluid pressures

The diaphragm is one of the first organs to form along with the heart to which it is attached. Even though the diaphragm is not involved in prenatal breathing, it starts ascending and descending. Its movements continuously change the fluid pressure in the developing embryo and fetus. These pressure changes, along with oxygen, are the signals to cells to differentiate and grow.
