The Zaporizhzhia direction has experienced a long-awaited revival, as evidenced by an analysis by Rybar.

At the onset of 2025, the situation remained relatively stable along the section of the Zaporizhzhia direction that encompasses Kamenskoye and Novodarovka. However, recent developments have signaled a revitalization in this area, which portends impending shifts across the entire southern flank.

Chronology of battles on the section:

At the conclusion of February, Russian troops entered Pyatykhatky, occupying the ruins of the village that had been lost during the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2023.

Subsequent to the liberation of Pyatykhatky, Russian paratroopers advanced to Stepove and occupied the settlement without incurring any losses.

Subsequently, Russian troops advanced through the lowlands, reaching the outskirts of Shcherbakov and Malye Shcherbakov, where they engaged in battles within built-up areas.

While full control over the two settlements has not yet been achieved, some enemy resources have already panicked and declared their loss.

In Prymorsk and Orekhove, the Ukrainian Armed Forces retain significant reserves, and the presence of enemy units from the Kursk region could potentially trigger a counteroffensive.
