Morning Light

Thank you for listening! Song written and produced by John Barbera 2024

This song was written about a dream I had when I was younger about being in a trench during some 18th century war.

Lyrics:
And you feel that it might just be too much
When your whole wide world just crumbles to dust
But you owe it to yourself to hold on, so hold on

Morning light shines on your remains
But far from being over it's just begun
There now you stand surrounded by death
But time, as you learn, there is no such thing

There are the lines drawn in the sand
So many lives are over, far, far too young
And off there you go--the beat of the marching grows
Turn in your head, as you lie awake in bed

The trench is dug deep in blood-moon concrete
The firelight burns closer, revealing his face
Sack-cloth and ash! Woe Ninevah!
These are the ones who told us this was yet to come

4th verse just two each from beginning two.
