I’ve been in this position for a few weeks now, and I am horrified by some of the things I’m discovering about this agency.

I’m sitting here on the 13th floor of a brand-new, shiny, and beautiful skyscraper. One that is costing you, the taxpayers, a fortune. The Biden administration, the people who ran this agency before, right before leaving office, signed a new lease for this building—a 15-year lease that will cost taxpayers nearly a quarter of a billion dollars.

Here’s the worst part: they already had a fully paid-off building where they were located. They could have renovated or updated it, but instead, they chose to sign us into a lease that is costing taxpayers a fortune. I know each of you works hard and pays your taxes, hoping that they will be used wisely—not wasted or mismanaged. And I can assure you, this building is a massive waste of money.

Just look at what’s inside: luxurious conference rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows—at least 26 conference rooms. Four bridges that lead nowhere. Huge waterfalls, Italian marble finishes everywhere, leather furniture—all paid for by the American taxpayer.

And that’s not all. We’ve also uncovered grants where contracts were changed just days before we got here, making it less transparent and more difficult to track where the money is going and what’s happening with these beneficiaries. It was a clear sign that they wanted to prevent us from finding out anything we could change and improve for the American taxpayer.

I want you to know that I am working hard here in Washington, D.C. I am making sure that we are not being scammed out of our hard-earned money. And we will do everything possible to cancel contracts that can be canceled, save money, cut costs, and ensure that your money is not being misused."

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) recently cut spending on Democrats’ pet projects, including $620,000 for pregnancy prevention programs for transgender children.

Can someone explain this? Here’s a list of recent cuts:

– $620,000 for “an inclusive LGB+ teen pregnancy prevention program for transgender boys.”
– $699,000 to study “cannabis use” among “gender-diverse sexual minority individuals.”
– $740,000 to examine “social networks” among “Black and Latino sexual minority men in New Jersey.”
– $50,000 to evaluate “sexual health” among “LGBTQ+ Latino youth in a farming community.”
– $75,000 to investigate “structural racism.”

Here are more wasteful programs on the chopping block:

– $100,000 for Vanderbilt University to study social networks among sexual and gender minorities.
– $37,000 for the University of Houston to study deportation fears among Latino youth.
– $681,000 for the University of Pennsylvania to study anti-vaping messages on social media among sexual and gender minority teenagers.
– $225,000 for the University of Colorado to study the effects of hormones on headaches in transmasculine teenagers.
