They Waited 5 YEARS to Investigate Us… Suspicious?

After five years of silence, Elections Canada is suddenly investigating the CCFR over a minor paperwork issue from the 2019 election. The problem? A missing number in one box on a third-party advertising form—something other organizations also missed without issue.

So why is this being dug up now, right before another federal election? We filed our audited statements with no problem at the time, but now it’s apparently an issue. Is this about enforcing election rules—or something else entirely?
