CNN’s Collins Grilled by WH Press Sec. Leavitt: ‘You’re a Reporter—Go Find Out’

D.C. (Dist. of Criminals), March 17, 2025 — White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt and CNN’s Kaitlan Collins engaged in a heated exchange over President Trump’s challenge to Biden’s ‘autopen-signed’ pardons and the administration’s deportation flights of criminal aliens.

Collins questioned Leavitt on Trump’s claim that pardons issued under Biden’s name may be invalid if they were signed without his knowledge. Leavitt fired back, “Was his illegal signature used without his consent or knowledge? That’s a question every journalist should be asking.” She pointed to a New York Post report that suggested even Biden’s own officials doubted whether he was consulted before the pardons were issued.

When Collins demanded evidence that Biden was unaware of the signatures, Leavitt flipped the script: “You’re a reporter—go find out.”

Legal Showdown Over Deportation Flights

Collins also pressed Leavitt on the judge’s verbal order to halt the deportation flights of over 260 Venezuelan and MS-13 gang members. Leavitt reaffirmed that the White House did not defy any court order, as the flights had already left U.S. soil before the judge’s written ruling was issued.

“There are legal questions about whether a verbal order carries the same weight as a written one,” Leavitt explained, emphasizing that the administration will let the courts decide whether the judge’s last-minute attempt to block the deportations had any standing.

Collins further tried to link Trump’s past criticisms of judges to Elon Musk’s recent calls for impeachment of activist judges. Leavitt dismissed the comparison, stating that while Musk has voiced his opinion, Trump has not personally called for the removal of any judges.

With deportation policies under fire and the legitimacy of Biden’s autopen-signed pardons in question, the White House made it clear—it’s not backing down.
