Cliffs Outposts - Reasonings:
Ideal:
* Pure Rock
* Sloped top area
* High elevation
* Next to a waterfall

Pros:
* Water features wash away any cares about zombies crossing over
* Any accidental zombie arrivals will be met with immediate death
* Great visibility

Cons:
* Very limited exit strategies
* Weather - tendencies would be towards much colder climates
* High visibility to other humans who might not be so "nice"
