Miami, FL – A stolen van led police on a high-speed chase Tuesday evening before being stopped by Florida Highway Patrol troopers and Hialeah police.

The pursuit began after the Miami Regional Communication Center alerted authorities that Hialeah police were chasing a stolen van near Okeechobee Road. Trooper Cantelar later spotted the vehicle on NW 74th Street, where the driver attempted to flee recklessly.

During the chase, the van crashed into another vehicle but kept going. A trooper used a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver near NW 72nd Avenue, successfully stopping the van. The three occupants then fled on foot.

Officers quickly apprehended the front passenger, while the driver was subdued by a police K9. The rear passenger was also taken into custody. The suspects were identified as Noslan U. Ruiz (driver), Abraham Carillo (front passenger), and Yamil Salas (rear passenger).

The van was confirmed stolen on August 31, 2024. After being medically cleared, all three were transported to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. The investigation is ongoing.
