Cheap and Easy Dry Canning (with a Manual Brake Bleeder)

In this video I show how I dry can without using any expensive equipment. This is a way I have kept dry goods for years. It's better for us as we can divide a large bag into smaller more manageable sizes. We like to cook, so we will buy a larger quantity than we need, as it is normally cheaper here to buy in bulk.

Let me be clear - this is not a substitution for pressure canning, hot water bath canning, or refrigeration. This is neither effective, nor recommended, to keep food from forming bacteria or mold. Failure to properly sterilize and keep a bacterial inhibiting environment from food can lead to illness or death. So do this at your own risk, as I do not warranty or guarantee this process. This is for educational purposes only.

This is merely a storage saver for us for dry goods. We only use it for dried/dehydrated/freeze-dried food: dried rice, dried pasta, dried beans, sugar, flour, and a multitude of dried seasonings. This is not a method for anything in a raw state, any liquid, anything already cooked, or any food or product that needs refrigeration or needs properly canned.

Shelf life for dried goods depends on the product and I make no guarantees for any food products that you choose to use this method on. Do your homework on this method and how to properly dry can. I only show what we use it for. This gets plastic bags and paper bags out of our pantry and is a good way to keep bugs out of dry goods.

As always enjoy all things In My Purview.
