The great debate over the identity of the writer of this letter aside, there are very interesting themes throughout the topics written about. Image and likeness, Jesus and Moses, Jesus as High Priest in the order of Melchizedek, Promise and Covenant, faith, and the kingdom. One of the glimpses of understanding the writer’s mind is the narrative concerning faith, that precedes the summation of the letter and the perfection of the saints and the admonitions that follow. Ascertaining the questions or issues to which the letter was written is a much more honest approach to understanding the meaning behind the narratives.
