Miracale of Prophet Moses (AS)

Asslamoalaikum sisters, brothers, friends and elders, Today in this series of videos of miracles and events of prophets and great religious figures, we are going to describe recount a hearttouching miracle and event, subject that Miracale of Prophet Moses (AS)

The story of Prophet Moses (AS) is filled with miracles that signify his divine mission, and one of the most profound and remarkable miracles involves his staff turning into a snake, as mentioned in Surah Taha (20:69). This event is deeply symbolic, not only of Prophet Moses’ (AS) authority and the might of Allah (SWT) but also of the battle between the truth and falsehood, and the triumph of faith over deceit.

Prophet Moses (AS) was chosen by Allah to deliver the message of monotheism to the Pharaoh of Egypt, who was considered the most powerful ruler of his time. Pharaoh had arrogantly declared himself as a deity and demanded that people worship him. Allah commanded Prophet Moses (AS) to go to Pharaoh and demand that he release the Israelites from slavery. To prove his prophethood and to demonstrate the power of Allah, Moses (AS) was given several miraculous signs. One of these signs was his staff, which would perform wonders to confirm his divine mission.

In Surah Taha (20:69), the Quran narrates that when Moses (AS) was preparing to confront the magicians of Pharaoh, Allah commanded him to throw his staff to the ground. Upon doing so, it miraculously turned into a large, venomous snake. The magicians, who had been summoned by Pharaoh to challenge Moses (AS), were skilled in their craft, using their own magic to deceive people. When they saw Moses' staff turn into a snake, they were initially intimidated and awed, for it was beyond the capabilities of their magic. Allah’s power was evident in this moment.

The magicians, having seen the true power of Allah, realized that this was no ordinary trick. They had understood the difference between magic and divine intervention. The magicians' response was immediate: they fell to the ground in prostration, declaring their belief in the Lord of Moses and Aaron. They acknowledged that Moses’ (AS) miracle was a sign from Allah, not mere magic. This moment was a profound testimony to the divine truth that Allah was showing through Moses (AS), and it marked the beginning of the defeat of Pharaoh’s arrogance and tyranny.

Pharaoh, however, refused to accept the truth. He viewed the transformation of Moses’ (AS) staff as a threat to his rule and his claim to divinity. In his arrogance, Pharaoh demanded that the magicians perform their own feats to challenge Moses (AS). He believed that his magicians, being masters of sorcery, could easily defeat Moses’ (AS) miracle. The magicians, who were experts in illusion and deception, threw down their staffs and ropes, and by their magic, they appeared to transform into snakes. However, the true miracle was about to unfold. As Pharaoh and his magicians watched, Moses’ (AS) staff, now a snake, devoured all the illusions of the magicians, swallowing their magical snakes. This powerful act demonstrated that the magic of the magicians, despite its complexity, was nothing compared to the power of Allah.

The swallowing of the magicians' illusionary snakes by Moses’ (AS) divine serpent is symbolic of the triumph of truth over falsehood. The magicians’ tricks were designed to deceive the people, creating an illusion of power and wonder. However, the true miracle revealed by Allah was not an illusion but a demonstration of absolute divine authority. It highlighted that no matter how powerful the forces of deception and evil may seem, they are no match for the truth of Allah's power.

In Surah Taha, the Quran says: “Throw down your staff!” and it became a serpent, swallowing all the falsehoods created by the magicians’ magic. This story serves as a clear reminder to believers of the ultimate victory of truth. It is a testament to the fact that, no matter how overwhelming the forces of darkness may appear, the light of Allah’s guidance will always prevail.

For the magicians, the experience of seeing their illusions devoured by Moses’ (AS) staff, transformed into a snake, led to their immediate realization of the truth. They recognized that their magic had no real power compared to the might of the Creator. In humility, they accepted the faith and declared their belief in the Lord of Moses and Aaron. Their willingness to embrace the truth, even at the cost of their status and Pharaoh’s wrath, shows the profound impact of witnessing the power of Allah.

The incident of Moses' (AS) staff turning into a snake is a powerful reminder of the significance of trusting in Allah's power, of standing firm in the face of adversity, and of recognizing that truth, no matter how seemingly small or humble, will always triumph over falsehood. This miracle continues to inspire believers to hold fast to their faith, knowing that Allah’s power and truth will overcome all challenges and obstacles.

With this, we seek your permission until tomorrow, tomorrow we will describe Miracale of Prophet Moses (AS) Parted the Red Sea to escape Pharaoh and his army. (Surah Ash-Shu‘ara verses 63-66). Allah Hafiz.
