Former ICE Acting Director Tom Homan has firmly responded to the left’s narrative about the Trump administration’s family separation policy, highlighting the devastating impact the Biden administration’s border crisis has had on children. In a recent statement, Homan made it clear that the "zero tolerance" policy under President Donald Trump was not only legal but was designed for a crucial reason: to save lives.

"Let me be clear. Zero tolerance is about saving lives," Homan stated. He explained that when the Trump administration began prosecuting those who entered the country illegally, it sent a clear message that crossing the border would not be easy or consequence-free. "We thought that by prosecuting those who break the law, we would put children in danger. Maybe they would stop coming, and, in fact, the numbers went down."

Homan emphasized that while family separation is unfortunate, it is a reality that happens daily in the American justice system. "American families are separated every day by law enforcement," he noted. "If a U.S. citizen commits a crime and is sent to prison, their children don’t go with them. Just today, in Albany, a family was separated because the child cannot go to jail."

The former ICE director then delivered a shocking comparison to the humanitarian disaster that has unfolded under Joe Biden, where over 500,000 children have been trafficked across the southern border. "You want to talk about family separation? Half a million kids have been trafficked into this country under Joe Biden. They can’t find 300,000 of them. That’s separation."

This humanitarian crisis is a direct result of the open-border policies implemented by Biden and his team, which have encouraged illegal immigration and allowed cartels and human trafficking networks to operate without control. While Democrats focus on attacking Trump’s policies, they ignore the current catastrophe, in which hundreds of thousands of children have vanished within the system, many forced into labor or trapped in sex trafficking rings.

Homan made it clear that the Trump administration will not stand idly by. "President Trump is committed. We’re going to find them. And we’re going to save them," he assured. "Many children are in forced labor, many are suffering in sex slavery. We’re going to save them."

Under Biden, the immigration system has collapsed, and border security has been practically dismantled. The crisis doesn’t just affect Americans—it also affects the immigrants who are used as political pawns by the left. Cartels have taken control of the border, using children as bargaining chips and sending unaccompanied minors into an uncertain fate.

The Biden administration’s policies have turned the border into a zone of chaos and despair. While Trump worked to secure the border, deport criminals, and protect American citizens, Biden has left the door open to human trafficking, drug smuggling, and child exploitation.
