A&E investigates the vital ties that bind the two very different nations, and analyzes the tensions that threaten to undermine, or at the very least, force a wholesale re-examination of this relationship. It examines the excesses of the Saudi Royal family and their encouragement of a very conservative form of Islam, as well as the role of Saudi nationals in the 9/11 attacks and the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It seeks to offer a balanced look at the many facets underlying this problematic relationship, and speculates what the future may hold for both nations.
