Is Your Faith Firm or Flimsy?

Dr Carl Ellis says the foundation of Christian faith must be built on a true understanding of God as revealed in Scripture, not personal preferences or cultural interpretations. While salvation comes through faith alone, the quality of our faith is demonstrated through our works - whether they are firm like gold and silver, or flimsy like wood and hay. All these works will ultimately be tested to reveal their true nature. God's grace plays a central role, not just in salvation but in sustaining our daily existence. This profound truth should lead believers to genuine reverence, regular repentance, and humble dependence on God. In authentic Christian community, this manifests through devotion to biblical teaching, genuine fellowship, shared meals, committed prayer, and intentional discipleship. The world needs to see Christianity built on firm foundations, displaying beauty and love even amid brokenness.
