Prophet Ya‘qub (A.S.), , was one of the noble prophets of Allah SWT. He was the son of Prophet Ishaq (A.S.) and the grandson of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.). His life was filled with trials, patience, and divine blessings, making him an exemplary figure in the history of monotheism. One of the greatest miracles of Prophet Ya‘qub (A.S.) was the blessing of twelve sons, who later became the ancestors of the twelve tribes of Banu Isra'il (the Children of Israel). These twelve sons played a crucial role in the lineage of the Israelite people and in the unfolding of Allah’s divine plan.

Among his twelve sons, Prophet Yusuf (A.S.) was the most beloved. However, his brothers, out of jealousy, conspired against him and threw him into a well. This incident marked a significant trial in Prophet Ya‘qub’s (A.S.) life, as he deeply loved Yusuf (A.S.) and was devastated by his sudden disappearance. Despite his immense grief, he remained steadfast in his faith and placed his complete trust in Allah SWT. His patience and unwavering belief in divine justice were among his greatest qualities, making him a model of perseverance for all believers. Over the years, Prophet Ya‘qub (A.S.) continued to grieve for Yusuf (A.S.), to the point that he lost his eyesight due to excessive crying. This was another miraculous sign, as later, when Prophet Yusuf (A.S.) reunited with his family and placed his shirt over his father’s face, Allah SWT restored Prophet Ya‘qub’s (A.S.) vision, demonstrating the divine power and mercy of Allah.

Another significant miracle of Prophet Ya‘qub (A.S.) was his ability to foresee and guide his sons toward righteousness. Before his death, he gathered all of them and advised them regarding their faith and devotion to Allah SWT. This momentous event is mentioned in the Quran in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 133, where Allah SWT says:

*"Were you witnesses when death approached Ya‘qub, when he said to his sons, ‘What will you worship after me?’ They said, ‘We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Ibrahim, Ishaq, and Ismail—one God. And to Him, we submit (as Muslims).’”* (Al-Baqarah 2:133).

This verse highlights the importance of faith, unity, and devotion to Allah SWT, as Prophet Ya‘qub (A.S.) ensured that his sons remained firm in their belief in monotheism. His final words were not about wealth, power, or worldly matters but about the worship of the One True God. This was a remarkable testament to his mission as a prophet and his deep concern for the spiritual well-being of his children.

The legacy of Prophet Ya‘qub (A.S.) continued through his descendants, who formed the twelve tribes of Israel. His story teaches believers the values of patience, trust in Allah, and perseverance through hardships. His unwavering belief in Allah SWT, even in the face of immense sorrow, serves as a lesson that divine wisdom is always at play, even if it is not immediately apparent.

Ultimately, Prophet Ya‘qub (A.S.) passed away at an old age and was buried in Hebron (Al-Khalil), alongside his forefathers, Prophet Ishaq (A.S.) and Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.). His life was a reflection of steadfast faith, and his miracles continue to inspire generations of believers. His greatest legacy was not only his miraculous endurance through trials but also the spiritual guidance he imparted to his children, ensuring the continuation of true monotheism for future generations.
