It started with a small noise.

A faint scratching sound coming from under my bed.

At first, I thought it was just my imagination.

But every night, the sound grew louder.

Until one night, I couldn’t take it anymore.

I grabbed my phone and used the flashlight to peek under the bed.

I expected to see nothing. Maybe a lost sock. Maybe just dust.

But what I saw…

Wasn’t normal.

There was a shadow.

It wasn’t mine.

It didn’t belong to anything in the room.

And then, it moved.

I jerked back, my heart pounding.

I took a deep breath and looked again.

The shadow was gone.

I tried to convince myself it was just a trick of the light…

Until I heard it again.

This time, the scratching wasn’t coming from under the bed.

It was right behind me.
