When 14-year-old computer prodigy Rudy Gatewick unexpectedly inherits the leadership of his father's high-tech empire, Zenda, Inc., after his sudden death, it spells trouble for his scheming uncle, Michael. Determined to take control of the company, Michael hires three thugs to kidnap Rudy, hoping to manipulate the upcoming stockholders' meeting. Meanwhile, Zenda executives Professor Wooley and Colonel Zapf discover a startling look-alike in a local baseball player, Oliver Gillis, and convince him to impersonate Rudy to buy time. Oliver, eager to help his struggling family, agrees—despite the chaos it causes in his own life.
