Zelensky changes his mind again: no minerals deal and the war will go on!
This appears to have been at the insistence of Macron and Starmer of France and the UK, who are talking about the use of French nuclear weapons to protect EU nations and continue the war of Ukraine against Russia.
It cannot possibly succeed, not least of all because French law only permits French nukes to be used to defend France--they cannot be shared, which makes Macron look like a fool (which is of course the case).
The EU has declared it is putting together $40 billion to fund this effort, which will also require conscription (drafting) young people to fight and die for Ukraine.
Putin has not been happy about this development, of which he learned before its public announcement, and has warned that, if EU or NATO nations threaten Russia, the response will be lightning fast and vastly more harsh than in Ukraine, which has historically been Russian territory and remains occupied by Russians, whom Putin has sought to protect.
That will not be the case with this new venture.
Indeed, the very idea of going up against the most powerful nuclear nation on Earth with a rag-tag "coalition of the willing" appears ill-fated from scratch, where Trump has now announced that the US will no longer be participating in NATO military exercises, which appears to be a signal to Putin that the US has nothing to do with this effort and does not support it.
