    I thought the Demonrats wanted to do away with the filibuster, just like they wanted to do away with the Electoral College? Yeah, till they need it... what hypocrites... on practically EVERYTHING! I thought shutting down the government was EVIL? Till the Demonrats want to do it that is. I loath these mofos.

    Sad to inform you, if the government shuts down for this reason, once it reopens, everybody gets back paid whether they worked or not. They passed a federal law that guarantees it.

    SCOTUS has rules for martial law and emergency powers. I don't see why the president shouldn't have emergency powers for a budget. Specifically a minimal budget. Something like 25 percent of what it was before to keep the lights on. Or maybe emergency budget legislation that the president can bypass a fillibuster and directly call a vote on with various limitations.

    Communism can never work bc human nature. Laziness is also contagious so the producers see the leaches and think why should I do everything and eventually stop themselves. Not all bc some ppl just can't not work but most ppl will.

    OK, I grew up going to an entomology club in LA called the Lorquin's society. it was a running joke that the new president every so often would run out of speakers and have to call the cochineal bug woman. she had the same presentation each time, discussing how native Americans used these insects to dye fabric etc...and then showed food items dyed with the insects... everyone (hard core bug collectors to bug photographers and dealers-I know it's weird) would roll their eyes and make jokes. I watched the presentation 4 times at least. It's gross, the bugs are gross and we shouldn't be eating them.
