While I was in Washington for this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference, I was given a sticker that really made me stop and question what I was seeing. It was a sticker that said: “Trump 2028: Finish the Job.”

At first, I thought it was just a joke, but apparently it wasn’t. There is an actual effort underway to try and change the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, in order to allow someone to run for a third term (if their previous two terms were non-consecutive).

I met up with the organization behind the stickers, and I sat down with its director, Shane Trejo. He explained to me his rationale for wanting to amend the 22nd Amendment, as well as the concrete steps that he and his organization are taking to try and make it happen.
