Syria’s Christian communities are facing brutal persecution as jihadist fighters unleash a wave of massacres in the coastal regions. More than 1,000 civilians have been murdered in cold blood, and entire families slaughtered simply for their faith. Towns like Latakia, Jableh, and Baniyas have become hunting grounds, with churches desecrated, homes burned to ash, and streets filled with terror.

The violence erupted after an ambush near Latakia, when gunmen loyal to Bashar al-Assad fired on a security patrol. In retaliation, Islamist forces launched mass killings, targeting Christians, Alawites, and other minorities. The death toll is staggering with 745 civilians shot dead, many tortured and executed in the streets.

Those who remain live in constant fear, seeking refuge in a military base in Latakia. As world leaders offer only words, the crisis deepens. The Bible reminds us: “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it.” It’s time to pray, speak up, and stand with the persecuted Church.
