What's the REAL Reason the Media & Fans Are ROASTING Bill and Devin Haney?
Bill Haney and Devin Haney seem to can't catch a break from the media and social media. After being quiet for a few months, Bill Haney has been on the offensive. Some fans say Bill Haney has ruined Devin Haney's image.
Public perception is everything to the Haney's, especially Bill Haney. Public perception is the general opinion of a group of people about a person, event, or issue. It's similar to a collective reputation.
And there lies the problem. Bill Haney wants to change the public's perception of his son. The problem is, he's doing a terrible job at it in the eyes of the public. For example, Reese from Oakland called yesterday to explain why Oakland doesn't mess with the Haneys.
He spoke about how the Town perceives Devin Haney as fake. When I look where Devij Haney is from, it says San Francisco, not Oakland. Although San Francisco and Oakland are only 11 miles apart, there is a connection there for Haney regarding the people.
Reese also said Oakland looks at Devin as being fake. He doesn't come off as authentic. The perception might change if Devin repped where he was from with his chest.
When it comes to Bill Haney, he is perceived as a too-bit hustler, a pimp, and a con artist. The media and the fans do not view him as a real trainer. The perception is that every trainer Bill Haney hires to work with Devin, Bill kicks them to the curb and moves on to the next one.
Some fans feel that the Haneys are all smoke and mirrors, whether it be Ben Davidson, Joel Judah, Freddy Roach, Floyd Mayweather Sr, or others, just to name a few.
In the past, Devin was billed as the next Floyd Mayweather Jr based on his relationship with Floyd Sr. Todd Grisham asked Devin about his chin instead of praising him for his accomplishments.
Bill Haney took offense to that. Bill also took offense to Todd not asking Ryan Garcia about his failed drug test and PED usage. At this point, I don't know what the Haney can do to make people like them.
Devin admits that he's naturally a bigger guy. Haney revealed he's fighting Jose Ramirez at a 144-pound catchweight but feels comfortable at 147.
In his latest interview with Ring Magazine, Devin Haney says he's now Embracing a VILLAIN ROLE. I don't think he has a choice at this point.
In other news, Keith Once Upon a Time, Thurman knocked out a professional tomato can named Brook Jarvis. That's all I have to say about that.
