President Donald Trump announced new tariff measures on Tuesday morning. He is doubling his planned 25 percent tariff on all steel and aluminum products coming from Canada to 50 percent—starting from Wednesday. In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said he has instructed his commerce secretary to add the additional 25 percent tariff.
