Suno - Gangstashop Quartet
A piece inspired by a Mad TV sketch in which Spishak Records advertises a quartet of barbershop-style singers who sing songs with lyrics crafted to appeal to gangsta rap fans as well, this particular Suno song had a decidedly troubled production, as the artificially IDIOTIC song-generating engine kept insisting on repeating verses in the middle of it without authorization. At my wits' end and aware of how annoyingly repetitive gangsta rap can be, I finally just doubled up ALL of the verses and went with the first piece it generated that didn't garble anything else. For all that, the outcome was pretty much what I wanted: a barbershop song with lyrics (sans the foul language) common to gangsta rap; among other things, these lyrics are where I first found out about the existence of the ghetto cognac Hennessy commonly referred to as "Henny" in many rappers' lexicons.
Lyrics:
[Verse 1][x2]
Walkin’ through the block, shadows creep in the twilight;
Concrete jungle, feelin' heat from a street fight;
Pockets full of dreams, but they heavy like a cinder;
Duckin' from the feds, hands cold from the winter.
[Chorus]
Trigger fingers itchy, drama on the sidewalk;
Street lights flicker, we're survivors in the gridlock;
Ridin’ with survival, in the city always schemin’;
Concrete jungle, where we steady dreamin’.
[Verse 2][x2]
Whips rollin' slow, beats bumpin' through the subwoofer;
Grindin' every night, till my pockets gettin’ buffer;
Homies on the corner, eyes sharp, never bluffin';
Livin' in the hustle, every day somethin' roughin'.
[Chorus]
Trigger fingers itchy, drama on the sidewalk;
Street lights flicker, we're survivors in the gridlock;
Ridin’ with survival, in the city always schemin’;
Concrete jungle, where we steady dreamin’.
[Verse 3][x2]
Ink on my skin, tales of struggle and glory;
Clutchin' tight my pride, don’t need tell a story;
Whispers in the alleys, shadows movin’ silent;
In this urban jungle, gotta stay vigilant, defiant.
[Chorus]
Trigger fingers itchy, drama on the sidewalk;
Street lights flicker, we're survivors in the gridlock;
Ridin’ with survival, in the city always schemin’;
Concrete jungle, where we steady dreamin’.
[Verse 4][x2]
Eyes open wide, can’t be caught in the snare;
Sippin' on Henny, feelin' troubles in the air;
Life on the edge, one wrong step, you slide;
But we rise every dawn, never lose that ride.
[Bridge]
Shackles of the past, break 'em with my hustle;
Heart pump adrenaline, built tough like muscle;
Dreams on the skyline, gotta reach, gotta spread;
In the heart of the chaos, keep the faith: never dead.
[Chorus]
Trigger fingers itchy, drama on the sidewalk;
Street lights flicker, we're survivors in the gridlock;
Ridin’ with survival, in the city always schemin’;
Concrete jungle, where we steady dreamin’.
