Comparable estimates have been made by The Lancet, on July 20, 2024, which estimated 186,000 dead using the end date of June 19, 2024, which Sridhar cites---and by Ralph Nader on October 15th, who estimated the number of deaths in Gaza at 300,000 as of October 1, 2024, a figure and the justification for which were entered into the Congressional Record. We're now more than 70 weeks into Israel's genocide and, unfortunately, it only just appears to have abated somewhat with the pretense of a ceasefire even as deaths by starvation, and deaths by ongoing bombing, sniper fire, and gunfire continue; death from cold, death from extended malnutrition, death from disease,... all proceed in force. Extending Sridhar's estimate to 70.3/64.4 * 335,000, we arrive at a figure of 365,691 murders thus far. Israel has therefore murdered 16.7% of the Palestinian population in Gaza, assuming an original population of 2,200,000. 44% of Gaza's population are, or were children. Israel has murdered 160,905 of those children. Of the 744 human beings Israel has on average murdered every day in Gaza for more than 70 weeks, 328 are children. Israel murders 328 children every day.
