They (The writers) do this (erroneously) because to retell the Revelation Prophecies in their Book narrative they can't have it that at the 5th Trumpet new true believers are stung for 5 months can they?

As Revelation scripture does not say that all those who come to belief in Christ in the Great Tribulation will also get a seal on their foreheads.

God could do it if he wants but it is not backed up with scripture in the 66th Book of Revelation.

So the writers cleverly (deviously) rewrite the script to get round this truth that's glaringly obvious. At least to those who really know/believe their King James Bible.
