The Monolith Monsters (1957)

Directed by John Sherwood. When strange black meteor fragments crash in the desert, they absorb water and grow into towering, deadly monoliths that threaten to destroy everything in their path. As the massive crystals spread and wreak havoc on a nearby town, a geologist and a schoolteacher must find a way to stop the unstoppable menace.
