Correction: In the video, I stated that one of the council members I tried to recall went to prison. It was many years ago, so I misremembered.

Details: Michael Patrick Leary, a former Elk Grove City Council member, entered his plea just as a jury was about to be empaneled for his scheduled trial on six felony counts in Sacramento Superior Court. Leary faced 12 years in prison if convicted on all counts. Under his plea deal, Judge Ben Davidian sentenced Leary to 180 days in county jail, to be served on home detention, and three years of informal probation.
