The video featured prominent Democrats condemning government shutdowns when Republicans controlled Congress, warning of the harm to national security, military readiness, and federal workers. "It is not normal to hold 800,000 workers’ paychecks hostage," one past statement declared. "These chaos agents, they don’t have a plan B. They just want to see everything burn," another warned.

He described Vance’s message as “impatient” but clear: the current continuing resolution (CR) reduces discretionary spending while maintaining border security operations and allowing Doge to proceed with cost-cutting measures.

"We’re in the majority now—White House, House, Senate. If anyone shuts down the government, that’s on the Democrats, and the American people won’t support it," McCaul said.

He stressed that Republicans are focused on reconciliation to secure increased border funding, defense spending, energy policy, and extending Trump’s historic tax cuts. “This is about the largest tax cut in American history,” he said. “That’s what’s at stake right now.”
