White House National Economic Director Kevin Hassett set the record straight on ABC yesterday, correcting Jonathan Karl on President Trump’s policies toward Canada and Mexico.

Hassett made it clear that Trump’s ‘drug war’ with Mexico and Canada is a separate issue from his ‘reciprocal tariffs’ policy, which is aimed at ensuring fair trade.

He also shut down Karl’s claim that Canada isn’t a major source of fentanyl, pointing out that fentanyl labs exist in Canada and that Mexican drug cartels are actively operating there.
